Calico Bass Over Nautical Charts

The Calico Bass (Paralabrax clathratus), also known as the Kelp Bass, is a marine fish found in the eastern North Pacific Ocean from Baja California, Mexico, to Washington. You know you're in a So-Cal kelp bed when you see a Calico Bass on your line! They’re aggressive, yet weary— making them great sport while fishing or hunting. They also happen to be a very cool looking fish, perfectly colored to match the kelp beds and rocky reefs they are most commonly found in.
