Starry Rockfish 714

The Starry Rockfish (Sebastes constellatus), is also commonly called Spotted Corsair, Spotted Rockfish, Chinafish, and Red Rock Rod. They live mainly off the coasts of California and Baja California. The Starry Rockfish is the easiest Rockfish to identify, due to the small white dots covering its body, thus it cannot be confused with any other species.

Amadeo has illustrated over 100 fish and invertebrate identifications for the California Department of Fish and Wildlife, and other clients. Each plate highlights the exquisite detail in Amadeo's illustrations, while identifying range, scientific, and common names.
